Tell us about your project

“The difference between Cymbaline and other studios is like the difference between a tailor's atelier and mass retail.”

Sarah, a bass player, came in with a singer friend, a bass line and a melody tried out at home, and two references: Sade and Arooj Aftab. In the studio we recorded bass and vocals and built the track with electronic drums, piano and synths.

Behind the desk

Luca Raitano

Producer, sound designer, mixing and mastering engineer, composer

A guitarist by training, Luca studied classical guitar and then rock and jazz at Saint Louis College in Rome, graduated in Art History at Sapienza University and earned a diploma in Audio Production at SAE Institute Milan.

Since 2006 he has worked across film, television and music: digital film restoration, audio post-production and sound design for Rai, Discovery Channel and production companies, location sound for features, shorts and documentaries, soundtracks and productions for Italian and international artists.

After almost nine years at Avatara Studios in Milan as engineer, sound designer and studio manager, he opened Cymbaline Studio in 2022.

The studio

One room, no compromise.

An acoustically treated control room, designed for precise listening and unhurried work. Valve outboard and analog and digital synths are always patched in: every idea can be tried right away. When a project needs a large live room, we record at our partner studios.
